Off to a sunny wedding in Norwich about an hour, wedding season for 2018 is definitely upon us, which makes for the busiest time of year for a close up magician along with Christmas parties. Wedding receptions make up about half of the table and close up magic that I do across Norfolk and Suffolk, with couples hiring a magician to entertain in the afternoons at the drinks reception, or slightly later on for table magic once the speeches and food are finished. When you are at someone else’s wedding, you usually feel a ‘lull’ at some point in the day, which is where a magician can make a real difference to the day, creating some energy and giving people moments (and in some cases impossible magicial souvenirs to keep) that they will remember for years to come.
It’s also the time of year at the moment when I work through the many leavers Proms that I repeat each year, these days they are much more similar to a wedding reception than the ‘disco in the hall in the afternoon’ that I had. Close up magicians, cartoonists, photo booths etc are at almost every Prom that I perform at.
Looking at the diary in the next few weeks I’ll be a ‘magician for hire’ in Norwich, Kesgrave, Colchester, London as well as other venues in Norfolk and Sufffolk. Looking forward to a warm and sunny season of magic as weddings and parties in every location!
